History of establishment of Azerbaijan National Conservatory
With the decree of the President of Azerbaijan Republic Heydar Aliyev dated on June, 13, 2000, a special order was given on establishment of “Azerbaijan National Conservatory”.
A year later, according to the President Heydar Aliyev’s comprehensive order on “About establishment of material-technical base of Azerbaijan National Conservatory”, Baku Music College and Republic Art Gymnasium were included to the structure of the conservatory.
According to this order, National Artist Siyavush Ashraf Karimi was appointed the rector of the Conservatory.
Composition of professor-teacher staff of Azerbaijan National Conservatory consists of professional musicians on folk instruments, conductors, singers, well-known musicians, composers and prominent personalities on social subjects.
