[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\"\"<\/a>Dada\u015f-zad\u0259 Kamil\u0259 H\u00fcseyn q\u0131z\u0131 (born 1960)<\/strong> \u2013 Rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, Professor. Doctor of Arts (2024), Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Azerbaijan (2013), and a member of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan (since 2007).<\/p>\n

In 2024, she defended her doctoral dissertation in Art Studies (specialty 6213.01 \u2013 \u201cMusical Art\u201d) on the topic \u201cThe Musical Synergetics of the Azerbaijani Heroic Epic.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

She graduated with honors in 1983 from the Uzeyir Hajibeyli Azerbaijan State Conservatory<\/strong> (now the Baku Music Academy), majoring in the history and theory of music. From 1984 to 1992, she worked as a research associate at the Republican Ashiqs\u2019 Union<\/strong>. Between 1992 and 1997, she taught at the school-studio affiliated with the Uzeyir Hajibeyov Azerbaijan State Conservatory<\/strong> (now Baku Music Academy), where she later served as deputy director for scientific and methodological work from 1997 to 2001.<\/p>\n

Starting in 2001, she worked as a senior lecturer at the Department of \u201cMusic History and Theory\u201d at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts<\/strong>, later becoming head of the \u201cFolk Music and Musical Instruments\u201d<\/strong> department and associate professor in 2003. In 2004, she became head of the \u201cMusicology\u201d<\/strong> department, and from 2015 to 2024, she led the \u201cMusic History and Theory\u201d<\/strong> department.<\/p>\n

By decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev<\/strong>, dated November 27, 2024<\/strong>, Kamil\u0259 Dada\u015f-zad\u0259 was appointed Rector of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Scientific Work and Research Interests<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kamil\u0259 Dada\u015f-zad\u0259 is the author of numerous scholarly works in the field of ethnomusicology<\/strong>. Her research primarily focuses on the musical-epic creativity of Turkic peoples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In her monograph \u201cThe Sign System of the Dastan\u201d<\/em> (in Russian, 2004), she was the first in Azerbaijani ethnomusicology to apply semiotic analysis<\/strong> to the study of epic tunes. Some of her research also addresses historical and theoretical issues<\/strong> of ethnomusicology.<\/p>\n

Her monograph \u201cAscension\u201d (Uzeyir Hajibeyli and the Ashiq Art: An Intertextual Dialogue)<\/em> (in Russian, 2014) explores the epic heritage of Turkic peoples as one of the main sources of Uzeyir Hajibeyli\u2019s creative inspiration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Dada\u015f-zad\u0259 was also the first in national musicology to apply methodological principles of synergetics<\/strong>, one of the most relevant approaches in contemporary science, to the study of epic melodies.<\/p>\n

In her monograph \u201cEPOS: Extraordinary Synergy of Epic Paradigms,\u201d<\/em> she investigates the nonlinear aspects of epic music<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Publications and Academic Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n

Her articles on the musical-epic creativity of Turkic peoples have been published in journals indexed and abstracted in international scientific databases<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Dada\u015f-zad\u0259 has delivered papers at numerous international conferences<\/strong> held in Turkey, Germany, Russia, Spain<\/strong>, and other countries. Her presentations on the epic creativity of Turkic peoples have been featured at conferences organized by major international organizations such as ICTM<\/strong>, ISME<\/strong>, and ELIA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She was also one of the authors of the report \u201cCultural Policy in Azerbaijan\u201d<\/strong>, prepared by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan<\/strong> within the framework of the Council of Europe\u2019s STAGE project<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Organizational and Academic Contributions<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through the initiative and leadership of Kamil\u0259 Dada\u015f-zad\u0259 and her department, the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts<\/strong> has hosted, for 23 consecutive years, the International Scientific and Practical Conference \u201cProblems of Studying the Musical Culture of Turkic-speaking Peoples.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to its significant scientific themes and broad subject scope, this conference has gained an important position in Azerbaijan\u2019s humanitarian and academic sphere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
